What this page covers

Marketing sites, storefronts, landing pages and CMS-backed websites. Internal platforms and SaaS products belong on custom software.

What we mean by web development

Web development here means customer-facing websites: the pages people use to understand your business, enquire, book or buy. That includes business websites, corporate sites, e-commerce storefronts, landing pages, CMS-backed websites and other public web experiences.

A website is the right starting point when the main job is to explain the offer, publish content and give visitors a straightforward next step. If you need an operational platform, a staff portal, a SaaS product or a substantial internal system, that is custom software, not a marketing website.

When the work is a system rather than a site, see custom software development.

Problems a weak website creates

01

Unclear positioning

Visitors cannot tell what you do, who it is for, or why they should get in touch. The site becomes a brochure nobody finishes.

02

Awkward on mobile

Most visits happen on a phone. If type, navigation or forms are hard to use, people leave before they enquire.

03

Slow or heavy pages

Unnecessary weight, unoptimised media and cluttered scripts make the site feel unreliable, especially on weaker connections.

04

Weak conversion paths

There is no obvious way to enquire, request a quote or complete a purchase, so interest never becomes a conversation.

05

Hard to maintain

Simple content changes require a developer. Pages go stale, and the business stops treating the site as a working tool.

06

Broken journeys

Product, service and contact information sit in disconnected places, so customers have to reconstruct the story themselves.

What we build

We plan and build the website around the job it has to do, then choose the technical approach that fits that job.

01

Business and corporate websites

Clear sites that explain the company, services and next step, with structure that is easy to extend later.

02

Custom websites

Sites designed around your offer and content, rather than forcing the business into a generic template.

03

E-commerce storefronts

Catalogues, product pages and checkout flows. Payment and shipping integrations are included where the provider and project scope support them.

04

Landing pages

Focused pages for a campaign, product or offer, with a single path to enquire or convert.

05

CMS-backed websites

Sites your team can update without waiting on a developer for every copy or image change.

06

Customer-facing web experiences

Public dashboards, portals or interactive pages when they are part of the website, not a full internal platform.

Website or custom software?

If customers need to understand you, browse an offer and get in touch, start with a website. If staff or customers need to log in and run the business through the product, that is usually a custom system.

Substantial internal tools, SaaS products and operational platforms are covered under custom software development.

How we deliver a website

Website work follows the same delivery path we use across BlueShift projects, kept concise here. The full sequence is on our process page.

01

Discover

We clarify the audience, the job the website needs to do, and what should happen when someone visits.

02

Plan

We agree the pages, content needs, integrations and milestones before design and development begin.

03

Design

We shape the structure and interface so the offer is easy to understand on a phone as well as a desktop.

04

Build

We develop, connect and test the site, including the enquiry or purchase path you actually need.

05

Launch and support

We launch the site and can continue with updates, fixes and improvements after it is live.

Technology

We choose the stack according to the project. Not every website uses every tool. Depending on requirements, work may involve:

Common questions

How much does a website cost?

Website cost depends on scope, number of pages, content, integrations and whether the site is a brochure, a CMS-backed site or a storefront. We do not publish fixed ranges. After we understand the requirements, we provide a quote.

How long does website development take?

Timeline depends on the same factors as cost: scope, content readiness, design needs and integrations. A small business site can be quicker than a catalogue or a site that replaces an existing one. We agree a schedule during planning.

Can BlueShift work with companies outside Nepal?

Yes. We are based in Kathmandu, Nepal, and we work remotely with businesses in Nepal and internationally.

Can BlueShift improve an existing website?

Yes. We can rebuild, redesign or improve an existing site when the current one is hard to use, hard to update, or no longer represents the business. We start by understanding what should be kept, replaced or simplified.

Do you provide maintenance after launch?

Yes. We can continue with updates, fixes, performance work and further improvements after launch, so the site does not stop at go-live.

What is the difference between a website and custom software?

A website is mainly for presenting the business and converting visitors. Custom software is a system people use to run operations, manage records or work inside a product. Some projects need both, but they are planned as different pieces of work.
